Feed server issues Sept. 26
Posted by Casey Trauer on 26 September 2014 03:01 PM
XML Team experienced issues with its primary feed server starting about 10:30 a.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 26. As a result, we quickly moved to our backup solution. One practical effect of this process is that while live feeds continue to be supported, archival data may not be available. As of 11 a.m., we are now back on our primary feed system and we expect all processes to be working normally.

Feed outage details for May 7
Posted by Casey Trauer on 08 May 2014 02:38 AM
Just a note to customers that we experienced some downtime this morning around 06:50 a.m. ET. This was caused by an underlying hardware failure of our main file repository, which is hosted by Amazon Web Services. When we initiated failover for this problem we also experienced issues with our backup service and some clients had intermittent service as a result. Fortunately, this was during a time of low-activity on all feeds.

Both problems have now been resolved.

XML Team regrets this lapse in service and we hope none of our clients were inconvenienced as a result. Please send any questions you may have about this incident to

XML Team's new support center
Posted by Casey Trauer on 13 April 2013 06:32 PM

Hi folks. We are in the process of installing a new support center that combines our ticketing system as well as our documentation and news. This system should be fully online in late May.

Here are some of the benefits:

  • You will be able to initiate and continue ticket support through email instead of logging into a web ticketing system. However, you can still use a web ticketing system to review and update all your support issues.
  • Our current goal is to answer each ticket within one business day. (Those of you who use our support services know that response it is usually faster than that.) This new system will reinforce our efforts even better and help track support response.
  • Our documentation should be better organized and have improved search. Clients can post comments on knowledge base articles to ask for further explanation of certain concepts. (We are currently in the process of populating the knowledge base.)
  • We will likely move all our news updates -- about technical and content changes on the feeds -- to the integrated news feed you see here. You can still subscribe for updates by mail.

Existing clients may have already received notification that their email has been registered into the system. You will have been issued a random individualized password that you can change in the system. Eventually, you may also be able to log in using your organization's authentication used to access all our other services, but that may not be available at the outset.

Those of you who are not clients and visiting our site to find out more about our services will still have access to some news and documentation.

This change is one part of our ongoing efforts to improve our services and our support. Just in the past year, we have made remade our feed infrastructure in a way that has made feed retrieval faster, more flexible and more reliable than ever before.

If you have feedback about our services, don't hesitate to contact us.
